Technology is a blessing, but sometimes it just feels like we’ll never experience again some of the most amazing things from the past. I feel lucky to have been born in 1980 and having an amazing childhood. Some of the best movies from all times were produced in that decade, specially movies about fantasy and adventure (IMHO), movies like Labyrinth, Beetlejuice, Back to the Future, etc. One of my favorite movies from that decade is “The Goonies”. I grew up wanting to be one of the Goonies and finding a treasure.
This is why, when the theme for this week “80’s Retro” was announced, I was very excited. For this theme they ruled out a lot of the usual suspects, but thank the gods they didn’t banned “The Goonies”. As I’ve said here before, sometimes the theme dictates the style of my design. This time I chose a text only design, even though my hands wanted to design something with more details. I wanted something fun and easy to understand. My design is based on two iconic scenes from the movie, which you can see here and here, and the color scheme represents the colors of a Rocky Road ice cream.
